A warm welcome to the Plough Inn, a delightful country pub seated in the beautiful village of Wreay just a stone's throw from Carlisle.
Here at our charming pub and restaurant, you'll find a wide selection of stunning locally sourced food, friendly service and your favourite tipple. Why not stay the night? We are dog friendly, welcoming well behaved dogs both inside and outside, and are OpenTable's Diner's Choice 2024, Tripadvisor's Traveller's Choice 2022 and winners of Best Service in Carlisle 2022 from Restaurant Guru.
We are also excited to be holding our very first "WREAY FEST" on Saturday 6th September 2025.
Its set to be a family filled day of music and entertainment with the beautiful backdrop of the Cumbrian fells.

Easily accessible from the M6 motorway, we are the perfect place to stop and rest, dine or refresh.
ROADWORKS FOR WORK ON THE CARLISLE SOUTHERN LINK ROAD
Please note that From 9th June to 12th December 2025 Newbiggin Road is closed to all traffic from the M6 J42 roundabout to the crossroads at Brisco Road.
Don't worry there are still various routes you can use to get to us.
